Wake up and smell the coffee – Kaffeehaus Amadeus
Bernhard Nausner has been brewing important plans for his business in 2018.
His Lanchester coffee house – Kaffeehaus Amadeus – has been undergoing extensive refurbishment since New Year’s Eve and is scheduled for a grand re-opening weekend at the end of February.
Builders have installed a new kitchen and done work to strengthen the fabric of the building. Apart from that, customers will find the main downstairs café area has had a major face-lift with a new floor and redecorated walls and ceiling. “It will all be new and nice and more comfortable,’’ says DBN member Bernhard.
For the re-opening on February 24 and 25, entry will be by ticket only. On the Saturday morning Kaffeehaus Amadeus will be offering breakfast, coffee roasting and brewing and tasting. In the afternoon, between 2pm and 4pm there will be Viennese-style drinks and food and in the evening, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, customers can relax with homemade soup and German rum punch.
On the Sunday there will be two sessions, around lunchtime and late afternoon where refreshments will be accompanied by live music from Quintessential Voices.
Kaffeehaus Amadeus is now four years old and has become an established Lanchester Valley venue.
Bernhard says: “When I started I had all the usual worries you have with a new business and I was happy to survive. I’m happy with the way it’s going. It has been growing each year continually and I’ve got a solid footing and I’m well established now.’’
